03/01 Website visual design update

The visual design phase of the website has begun, and we've been looking around here, there, and everywhere for inspiration. Below are some websites that we think did a great job with their "wow" factor...

We are planning on adopting modern web elements such as big video headers, parallax scrolling, clickable and draggable backgrounds,  and grid/metro themes for our website. The goal for the Hampi Crafts website is to tell the story of the crafts and craftspeople of Hampi through an enriching user experience. Our plan is to use a lot of images and videos to narrate this story, and consequently, we have spent a chunk of time researching video and image compression to enable faster loading times for the website. 

Below are some initial designs for the website. Keep in mind that these are continuously changing as we iterate through them with every feedback we get.
